I wonder is a son grown to be worshipped?
When does he learn that his being demands
Entitlement to come into existence,
his discomfort placed upon
the backs of those around him?
His loud heavy movements draped over
my ears, stuffed with anecdotes of his needs.

A Son
I really liked this post because I can relate this back to my culture. Usually the sons are always held high in the family and they are all praised in a bengali household. My understanding of this post is jealousy towards the ability to be a son because all their pain is given to everyone else and they get what ever they want. But I disagree with this. A son is born was responsibility places upon them, without any choice. Men hold in their emotions and never let them show especially a son because the last thing a son wants is to burden his family. This post is really interesting but from my understanding I think it wrongfully judges the role of being a son.
