Sometimes, a message lacking profoundness is the message. We often feel like we are lost in translation, when there’s no need for translation.

The text is small but has a lot of meanings behind it depending on how one views it, for me I think of it as how we see the 3 dots waiting for a response that is worth reading but sometimes we set our expectations at higher level then it should be.

Hi,
Thank you for your response! Those three little dots are soooo infuriating, am I right?? Especially when you’re waiting and waiting and then the reply is so short.

Everyone has their own perspective to everything, after reading this small but meaningful text I think of it as how we have to receive a paragraph to feel like the person texting cares when a simple text goes a long way.

Hi Raja,
Thank you for your response! Your take is very interesting, as many people would consider “k.” to be a very dismissive text message. Perhaps there is more to that simple letter than people think?

This poem talks about someone who sent a message and is waiting for a text reply. They watch the three dots, expecting something deep or thoughtful. However, instead they just get “k.” It’s short and feels like a letdown. Next the author says how it’s “exactly enough” which is surprising. This shows how even a small reply can still mean something. The poem is about hope, surprise, and how we talk today. We see from this that even small things can have a big impact on anyone. We may expect a lot, but a short reply or moment can still hold meaning.

Hi Elliot,
Thank you for your thoughts! Yes, the way we talk today can cause very short messages to carry a lot of meaning. We all know what texting “k.” means, causing that one letter to carry so much meaning, as if it were a long, drawn out text.

Even though its a short blog it said a lot. It made me think about how a lot of people are in situationships where they always the one to communicate with the person and have to wait ages to hear back from them. The line that stuck with me was “somehow its exactly enough”. I liked this one because it made me think about times where I would be texting a person and I’d wait for what seemed like hours hoping to get a response no matter how short it was.

This Blog spoke to me because of how relatable it is to fall into this trap of texting someone and hoping they reply with something interesting but then they let you down, depending on who you are texting, it can lead to a delusion of you accepting their mediocrity and being totally fine with it. This is why the line “ Somehow, it’s exactly enough” stood out to me because of how relatable it is to feel this way about a certain person who you are texting and care for deeply. It also shows just how a small and mediocre reply can mean a lot and life holds meaning you can be grateful for the smallest of things and it will still make your day.

This Blog post spoke to me in ways many may not understand. This type of patiences and love only comes with a sacrifice of either one’s mind or even physical health. This blog post made me think about how some people will wait for the three dots to finish while some will leave and come back hours later to reply but instead see “k” and go about they’re day. My reaction to their idea is complicated because one side people would expect a message like that but on the other It can either hurt someone or make them feel whole. It depends heavily on the person, for instance this person feels whole because they probably know how that person texts or they at least got a message from someone they truly cared about.

This blog post spoke to me and I can relate to it a lot. When texting people, its hard to convey emotions and with the lack of gestures that the words can give, it can be lackluster. When speaking in person, you can see the person ponder, and give them time, but online you don’t know if they are ghosting you or leaving you on read. You can see the 3 little dots, and then it stops. It gets annoying and really aggravating. Depending on the person, you can make small guesses on what they can be doing. For me, a close friend who write “k” who be shown as “dry” but since I know him, its expected and which leads to the blog writing “take so long will be thoughtful and complete and satisfactory and somehow, it’s exactly enough.” Which the language choice they choose for this blog, it really shows how deprive of emotions that texting has, but also shows how relationships can affect the outlook on how some slang or responses they write can affect how you feel at the moment.
