Goodbye for now.
Before anything, I wanna take a moment to mention the interns who finished their last semester with us. Lisa, Danielle, Yitzchack, Joseph, Dejahrae and Rachel. Best of luck to you all in every aspect of you lives. I wish you guys nothing but success! Everyone at junction will miss your impact.
Now it is time for some reflection. This semester was heavily marked with grief and anger that resulted from the October 7 attacks and the violence that took place after it and is still going on. It is important to realize we as humans have more similarities than differences. No loss of innocent human life should be celebrated in the name of any political ideology. I hope 2024 will have a lot more compassion, unity and rationality.

Winter break will pass and all of us will be the spring semester, my preferred semester honestly. It’s just watching the trees regrow their leaves and to see everything come back to life makes me so happy. Also I just hate the cold so I’m always glad to be out of winter.
Also next semester we will be launching another addition of the junction magazine featuring the best writers and artists Brooklyn college has to offer. If you would like to be featured in the magazine, please click the attached link that will direct you to the website where you can submit your wonderful works. Also we might be working on some more events for you guys in conjunction (there’s a pun here) with the open mic. Follow us on social media to be in the loop.
With that out of the way, happy holidays everyone. I hope we all can get all the power naps and beauty sleeps that we oh so deserve, I hope all of us can stay on top of our new year resolutions and I hope we all keep being the awesome people that we are.
To everyone that celebrates happy Hanukkah, merry Christmas and a happy happy new year. (It’s early December but since this is the last blogpost until next semester I gotta fit everything in)
Goodbye for now.

To Wali,
Thank you for the final greetings (and farewell!) of the semester. I agree in it being important to understand that we’re all as similar as we are different, and that coming together rather than apart results in much creativity and beauty – Take the Open Mics and Writer’s Circles, for example. I wish all those who are leaving good fortune and future, and a happy holidays / break for all. Thank you for the piece.
-Liam
