Like unrefined sugar you
Sat on my lips, thick
Like molasses
On my fingertips. I considered
Pouring you into my tea,
Watch you burn and
Boil with absolute glee. To
Undo your strings like
You did mine. To
Mend you—
Clean, polish,
And refine.

Like unrefined sugar you
Sat on my lips, thick
Like molasses
On my fingertips. I considered
Pouring you into my tea,
Watch you burn and
Boil with absolute glee. To
Undo your strings like
You did mine. To
Mend you—
Clean, polish,
And refine.
