Me and Alice decide to go to the park to watch the sunset after school. 

We need a break from school, a chance to be one with nature.

 This adventure is what I feel I need at this moment.

 I want to be free.

We drop our backpacks and walk the ten blocks to the park.

The path to the park is full of colorful houses, big and small. 

We stop to get mint hot chocolate.

 It instantly becomes my favorite flavor.  

When we get to the park, the sun is slowly descending, a golden glow covering the grass like a blanket. 

There is a beautiful oak tree right in the middle.  

The branches full of green leaves extend to create a hidden place beneath them. 

There is no one else at the park. 

It is just me.

Alice. 

The golden sun.

 And our hot chocolate. 

We make our way to the subway,

The golden glow is now

slowly shifting tones.
