It’s not okay to have your day taken away by a feeling,
A sudden shift in your mood that can appear without reason,
A sudden change in your mind’s weather, a sudden change from sun to rain,
It’s not okay to have your day drenched in a sudden shower of mental pain.

It’s not okay to have your weeks swallowed by the mourning beast,
This beast who crawls out of the gutter to feast on your good memories,
With its face like yours and a deeper frown with its much sharper teeth,
It’s not okay that it chumps down on your happy days and makes your mind feel weak.

It’s not okay when time slows down and your heart begins to suffer,
When reality becomes a blur and your mind begins to buffer,
But it’s okay to rest your thoughts, take some time alone, put aside what you've been doing,
These moments come to remind us we're not machines, we're all emotional, we get tired, we're human.

It’s not okay for your day to be taken away by a feeling,
But when it is, remember that it is only the sickness before the healing,
Remember, when your past is in fractions, your present feels slow, and your future seems unknown,
That in a world of seven billion, with thousands all around you, you are not alone.
