Hello, Bulldogs!

Another week in March has passed. As it does, realization sets into our Zoom-weary bones: we’ve been doing this *waves at life* for a year now. It goes without saying that we’re all over it. Every classmate I’ve spoken to has shared the same feeling: exhaustion (BC invites you to also share your COVID experience). But there is a light at the end of the tunnel! CUNY Chancellor Felix V. Matos Rodriguez has announced a plan for a “safe and gradual return” to our beautiful Brooklyn Campus for Fall 2021. So I encourage everyone to take a few deep breaths, keep your head up, and stay safe a little while longer. We’re almost there!

Other awesome stuff:

  • March is Women’s History Month! This month, we celebrate not only the women who have shaped the events of history and society but also those who continue to do so. There are a lot of great virtual activities to join in, including from own Brooklyn College Women’s Center. See below for all their events and register here.
  • Oxford University Press is currently taking applications for their virtual summer internship program. Paid virtual roles vary from entry-level Marketing, Editorial, Finance and Sales Positions. The focus of the internship is to learn about and gain experience in the Academic Publishing industry. Internship will be from June-August 2021. Apply here!
  • Our Spring 2021 Open Mic is ten days out! The deadline to signup to perform is March 11th – Sign up here. Keep your eyes peeled and inbox open: the Zoom link will be announced shortly.
  • We’re still taking submissions of writing, photography and art for The Junction, our annual literary magazine. Deadline to submit is March 28th! Submit work here.
  • Have writer’s block? Need to carve out time to write? Bored and need something to do? Come join us Wednesdays at 2:30PM and Thursdays at 6:30PM for our twice-weekly Writers Circles! Click here for Zoom information.

Have a safe, productive, and (hopefully) warm week!
