Notes on my phone:

  • Fragmented pieces of stories and poems, feelings and things I’ve noticed.
  • Time management schedules which I check compulsively.
  • My own growing Christmas list and a list of all the presents I’ve bought other people so far.

Prices and gift guides:

  • Reading reviews and product comparisons and where to get the best deals.
  • Christmas gift guide for dads. 100+ best gifts for dads. Christmas gift guide for the dad who doesn’t want anything. Christmas gift guide for the dad who has it all.
  • I still don’t know what to get my dad. I never do. None of us ever do. He tells me he has everything he could possibly want, and I hope it’s true.

Book schedules and books themselves:

  • Currently reading a random cozy mystery I found on my bookshelf.
  • On December 15 I’ll start Murder on the Orient Express.
  • From December 22-Christmas Day I’ll be reading A Christmas Carol.
  • I used to read rapturously, and I still kind of do. But it requires schedules now. I just finished The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Emails and texts:

  • Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday deals and FLASH SALE and ENDING SOON.
  • Fighting with my best friend who I only got to see for one. single. day. over this weekend.
She teases me relentlessly, but I miss her so much I’d hug her dirty train clothes and all.
Don’t tell her that though.

Final assignments and class schedules:

  • One in class essay, one portfolio, one final essay. Not bad at all.
  • I can’t say the same for next semester’s class schedule I’ve finally finalized.
