giphy (7).gifActual spring is starting to peak in through the corner, and after St. Patrick’s weekend, it looks like it’ll be here for good. At least, I hope so. I’m slowly starting to put away my winter wear for some of my spring fashion. It would be just my luck to get all dolled up for my graduation photo, wearing one of my prettier pinafores, only for it to start snowing. As is typical of NYC weather.

On a more academic note, we’ve survived about half of the semester, either through sheer willpower or by luck alone. For once, I’d place myself with the lucky ones, as I was granted by the midterm gods a midterm-free semester. But as much as I want everything to be solved by a four-leaf clover, the dawn of better weather also brings about spring cleaning, and whether it’s donating and cleaning through old clothes (for bookworms like myself, our many books!) or cleaning up our acts (New Year’s Resolution? More like spring cleaning commitment!), we all have to work our way through some kind of mess.

We’ll get through this! I believe in all of us. We’ll succeed in our spring cleaning commitments with cleaner rooms (something I will one day attain) and clearer heads.

Now, time for some announcements.

Important Dates:

March 18: West Quad track will be open for daily use to Brooklyn College faculty, staff, and students at no cost. Would anyone be interested in a semi-daily jog?

March 21: If you’re interested in getting your academic or creative work published, look no further! The University of Minnesota Duluth’s Honors Program is currently accepting submissions for the 2019 issue of Aisthesis, our honors student journal. Submission guidelines can be found here.

March 22: Looking for a job? Or an internship? The Magner Center is hosting a Spring Job/Internship fair. Here’s a link with more details.

March 28: Application due date for the study abroad program to China. Visit five wonderful Chinese cities: Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing, Suzhou and Shanghai, as well as Hong Kong, Tibet, Yangzhou and the Yellow Mountain. For more information, email Professor Lu at CUNYinChina@brooklyn.cuny.edu.

And the most important reminder of them all! Deadline to submit to The Junction is coming up in a few days – March 20. Submit your prose, poetry, artwork to bczinesubmissions@gmail.com!

Have a great week guys! Hopefully we all find the end of the rainbow, because who doesn’t want a pot of gold?
