Top of the Morning
Welcome back to another riveting week at The Boylan Blog! It’s the time of year where you have to pull your thicker blankets, fuzzy slippers, and cozy sweatpants from the back of your closet. It’s time for pumpkin spice everything, even if you can’t stand it – scented candles, lattes, muffins, you name it. It’s time to embrace cold feet and hands that you can never warm up no matter how much you rub them together!

(I actually love autumn, I swear. 😛 )
Anywayyyyy. I’ve got a list of fun events and opportunities to keep you in the loop!
- Every Tuesday, there are Study Abroad Information Sessions held at 1108 Boylan from 1-2pm. Check them out for the deets on study abroad scholarships, opportunities, and more.
- On Tuesday, Oct 2nd, the Women’s Center Open House will be happening at 227 NE! There will be stand up comedy from Chewy May and Chanel Ali!! Refreshments will be served!!!
- If you’re interested in creating an out-of-classroom experience for yourself that promotes creative or career advancement, consider the Rosen Fellowship Lunch on Thursday, October 4th at the SUBO Penthouse from 12-2pm. Information on the application process will be available, and of course, lunch will also be provided. RSVP by emailing Stephen Gracia at sgracia@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
- Come to Writer’s Circle at 2307 Boylan on Thursdays at 12:30-2pm! It’s a commitment-free, judgment-free writing space run by our lovely intern, Nicole. ❤ Warm up those writing muscles!
- If you’re looking for a part-time job for 20-30 hours a week, Terrace Books in Brooklyn is looking for someone to work in the evenings and weekends! They describe themselves as a “fiercely independent neighborhood bookstore in Windsor Terrace” – so that’s pretty awesome. Applicants should send their resume and cover letter to info@terracebooks.com with the subject line “BC Job Post.”
- Anastasia is now a Broadway musical! The stunning Christy Altomare – Sophie from the Broadway Mamma Mia! – plays Anya. Check out the website here to get tickets – orchestra seats are discounted this week only at $69 a pop.
ALSO, one of our biggest events of the term is coming up: Open Mic! ⭐ It will be held on October 16th during common hours at the Woody Tanger Auditorium in the Library. It’s open to all Brooklyn College students, so sign up to reserve your spot today!
Stay warm and healthy,
Monica
