Greetings are hard. You’re walking on campus during the first days of the semester, and you see your lab partner from last semester or the professor who gave you a respectable B-plus. You know them, but then again, you don’t really know them. You fail to make eye contact and now you’re not sure whether they’ll say hello, or if you should. You’re weird if you say something, but you’re rude if you don’t. Ugg. So you look at your phone and pretend you don’t see them. Finally, the moment for hellos has passed, and you’re left wondering why you’re so awkward. Perhaps next time you’ll do better.
Blogs are easier–here writers (especially me) are at liberty to be uncharacteristically welcoming and peppy. So here it goes:
Hello and welcome back to the Boylan Blog! I hope your summer was a pleasant one, or that you at least had free moments to enjoy doing nothing. 😀
