Spanglish

This is my brain when I read Spanglish. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking home forced me to compartmentalize my two languages. “Se habla Espanol en la casa”- (my mother’s voice), and English at school. Then in high school, the borders between my tongues started to get scrubbed away. Even today, former intern Liz and I swerve back and forth between the two. Her Dominican Spanish faster than my sluggish Colombian Spanish.
