Keep Moving Forward

I’m not usually one for inspirational life quotes, but as the semester and the rain continues, its easy to get stuck in a rut. Here’s a quote I recently read, by H.G. Wells, that urges you to get up, think towards the future, and be courageous: “If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.” With that said, we have a list of great opportunities to look forward to.
- Sign up for the English Major’s Open Mic outside of 3416 Boylan! It’s a great way to share your poetry, prose, or song, judgment free!

2. Submit your work to the Junction magazine by March 15th!
3. Come to Writer’s Circle on Tuesday and/or Thursdays from 12:30-2:00, in 2307 Boylan, to practice your creative writing with fellow English majors!
4. Take a look at the many English Department Awards and Scholarships posted at 3416 Boylan!

5. The Women’s Center is hosting a screening of the documentary One of Us this tuesday.

6. A series of interesting lectures are being held at Brooklyn College in the upcoming weeks by professors of the Classics, History, Philosophy, and Judaic Studies departments!
-Encyclopedism in late antiquity: Tuesday, February 27th with Professor Brian Sowers
–Roundtable on law in late antique and medieval jewish, Christian, and muslim traditions: Thursday, March 15th at 12:30pm with Professors David Brodsky,
