Hello and welcome to a new semester here at Brooklyn College!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and is coming into Fall 2017 relaxed and refreshed. I’d like to start off by welcoming our new writers Stephanie, Amanda, Brayan, Marie, Richard, and Salvatore. And another welcome to any new readers!

Firstly, a little know-how:  The English Majors’ Office is located at 3416 Boylan and is open from Monday – Thursday for  all your English major counseling, advisement, registration and degree questions, or any other English-related needs. This semester, the English Department is switching over to a new curriculum, so if there are any questions about that for returning students, please do not hesitate to stop by and check in. There is also information available about various events and opportunities around campus.

Writer’s Circle this semester will be run by the talented Isaiah Rivera and will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm in 2307 Boylan.
For those of  you that are new, Writer’s Circle is a great writing club where students can get together and discuss things like how to write in different genres, workshop student writing, or how to properly construct alternate universes where goats are in motorcycle gangs.

There are lots of exciting things to looks forward to this semester and we’ll be keeping you updated on all the English Department happenings as they come up. For now, I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend after our first week at school!
