I’ll Do My Best (To Do My Essays) With The Time That’s Left
Finals’ season is officially here and I am officially suffering. With three essays, one of which is ten pages, one test, and one presentation (which I’ve fortunately finished preparing) all due next week, I expect at least one all-nighter to get it all done, though I am doing my best to not do it all last minute. My problem is, I can only get work done under pressure.

Even under pressure, it’s hard for me to do work. Something in me just keeps saying “it’s fine, you still have time,” when I most definitely do not, but when times are hard, I can always count on Mumford & Sons to get me through my schoolwork. I don’t know why, but something about their music gives me the energy and motivation I need to do it. I realized this my first spring semester at Brooklyn College when I’d slept around seven or so hours in three days because I had three ten page papers due in the same week (all due either Monday or Tuesday). At one point I was on Spotify (procrastinating) and I thought to myself, what’s Mumford & Sons up to these days? Turns out, they’d released a new album earlier that same day, so I put on my headphones and as I listened, I managed to get a considerable amount of work done. Even as I am writing this, I’m listening to Mumford & Sons to help me write. For the next few days, I will probably be listening exclusively to their music, so here are some of my favorite tracks from their Wilder Mind album:
