Hi all!
And welcome to another week at The Boylan Blog! This past Thursday the English Majors’ Counseling Office held our semiannual Open Mic; congratulations to everyone who performed and thank you to all who attended! It was a great event and we hope to see you there in the fall. You can watch this recording on Brooklyn College’s Facebook page, and check back here for when the YouTube link becomes available!
There’s still time to submit to our literary magazine The Junction! The deadline was extended to this Friday the 24th, so bring a hard copy of your art, prose, plays, and/or poetry to 3416 Boylan, or email it as an attachment to BCzinesubmissions(@)gmail(.)com.

Other opportunities:
If you’re an Education, English, or Women’s Studies major who’s interested in “a more just and peaceful world,” applications for the Karel Rose Scholarship can be picked up at 2111 James and are due April 11th.
“Turning your liberal arts passion into a career”: the Magner Center is holding a career panel on Tuesday, March 21st in SUBO during common hours, where you’ll be able to meet with successful alumni who were liberal arts majors. Register for the event through the “Career” tab on BC WebCentral.
If you’re graduating in 2018 or later, The Nation is accepting applications (due by noon on April 3rd) for a paid position as a Student Writing Fellow. “Fellows should be familiar with The Nation and have a passion for politics,” and will write 2–3 articles per month from 5/15/17 through 4/30/18. Check out this link for more information, or email studentfellow(@)thenation(.)com with any questions.
And if you haven’t already, go visit Writers’ Circle for creative writing workshops and an upcoming Write-In! Meetings are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30–1:30 in 2307 Boylan.
Enjoy the rest of your week, and don’t miss submitting to The Junction!
