Part one:

She held the knife with fanaticism but could not catalyze the necessary enzymes to send shocking thunderbolts down her motor neurons, staring at the foreign substance known as the Kumquat (comes from Mandarin yellow orange). The Kumquat held her in such a trance that the fragrance was spellbinding, possessing her, enthralling all her senses.

Kumquat: corpulent, succulent, and diaphanously-clad,  circumscribed a most deleterious conundrum: Was she to butcher it up into infinite pieces? Consume the most precious of precious?

Kumquat, abysmally small, a treasure to be admired and preserved for future sustenance…

And so her musings were over. She decidedly peeled apart the Kumquat, skinning it alive.

Chew. Chew. Swallow.

And so the Kumquat, through the law of conservation of energy, was now a part of her system (and through the million entropy-bound chemical reactions occurring as we speak, the Kumquat is dispersed throughout the universe).

Part two:

I am Kumquat. My fellow Kumquat and I sprouted somewhere dark. Don’t remember when. What is when? They’re shouting. A colossal alien had uprooted me from my home.

The skies were constantly changing around me, and I began to ponder if the physical world which I could sense was in motion. Maybe I am still, but everything else around me is moving. I am center to this world.

I observed something similar but not quite as dark as my home. I think I shall call it moon. It rises and falls, and so too does the bright star that follows it in waking. Time goes by so fast. Moon constantly chased down. O bright star, were I as in motion as you, maybe then I could find a moon too. My brethren lay silent. They utter not a word.

Some clear substance envelops me. (She) is as quick as my moon! (She) is boundless.

The world ceases to move, and I find some alien staring at me. (She) breaks all the rules of my universe. What is this? Let me think. Oh no, maybe I was wrong, maybe there are more rules to this univ- SPLAT.

Chew. Chew. Swallow.
