Hello, readers!

We’re finally back on a Monday! CUNY hasn’t had a full week of classes since the week of February 6th, so gear up for an “extra” day of class.

The English Department will be accepting writing for a plethora of contests until March 3rd. The Awards and Scholarships Pamphlet available in the English Office explains that there are two kinds of contest prizes: “Scholarships are awards granted through a process of faculty nomination and review, while Awards are determined by a series of juried contests, for which students either submit work under specific submission guidelines, or sit for proctored, essay-writing contests.” The deadline for most of these contests is March 3rd, but a few are sooner, so head over to 2308 Boylan Hall for more information soon!

The English Department’s Open Mic will be on March 16th! Mark your calendars if you’d just like to watch, or sign up now on the door of 3416 Boylan to participate. There is a limited number of speaker slots available, so sign up soon.

Submissions for The Junction, Brooklyn College’s Literary Magazine, are due on March 23rd. Don’t miss out on an opportunity for your creative works to be published! Poetry, prose, plays, photographs, paintings, drawings, and other publishable creations are all acceptable submissions.

Brooklyn College is hosting a Women’s Leadership Summit on March 10th! It is open to all CUNY students! To learn more, click here. To RSVP, click here.

Don’t miss out on Writer’s Circle, now meeting twice a week! Join us at 12:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Boylan 2307 for some creative writing fun.

Have a great week!
