greetings

Hello all readers and I hope you’re all having a great President’s Day!

I want to bring to everyone’s attention that this is the time for English Department Prizes in writing. There are many contests going on in poetry, fiction writing, plays, short stories, expository writing, and more. The deadline is March 3. Happening now is also The English Award Poetry Exegesis and The Randolph Goodman Shakespeare Essay Award. You can get more information at 2308 Boylan, or pick up a flyer with a list of the all the contests at the English Department office at 3416 Boylan.

The English Department Open Mic is also coming up on March 16. Sign-up sheets will be posted as of March 8 by the door of 3416 Boylan. There are limited slots available and they will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

This week there will also be performances of “The Vagina Monologues” on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 23 and 24) in SUBO. Please by tickets in advance at the Women’s Center. If you have any friends that would like to come and they are not a student at Brooklyn College, make sure they are put on the guest list or they will not be let in.
